Econopolis Acquires a Majority Stake in DoubleDividend

Asset manager DoubleDividend welcomes Econopolis as its strategic majority shareholder. This partnership creates an independent Dutch-Belgian asset management firm with over €4 billion in assets under management and approximately 50 professionals based in Amsterdam and Antwerp.

This partnership is a response to changes in the asset management sector. Increasing regulation, technological developments such as artificial intelligence, and increasingly complex financial markets call for scale, specialized knowledge, and investment power. By joining forces, both organizations strengthen their position while retaining their independent character, active investment style, and personalized service.

For clients, the services will remain unchanged. DoubleDividend will continue to operate from Amsterdam with its existing team, which will be further expanded in the coming period. DoubleDividend’s partners will remain shareholders and responsible for day-to-day management. Clients will also gain access to a broader research organization, additional specialized expertise, and a more extensive range of products and services. As part of this expansion, Bram Tankink, who has been with Econopolis for some time, will also be joining the DoubleDividend team.

DoubleDividend has built an excellent reputation in sustainable asset management. We share the belief that quality, independence, and a long-term perspective form the foundation of sound asset management. By bringing together our teams, expertise, and range of products and services, we can serve our clients even better. Together, we are building a leading independent asset manager in Belgium and the Netherlands, with the ambition to compete on the international stage as well.

The partnership builds on a relationship that dates back more than twenty years. Several partners at DoubleDividend—Ward Kastrop, Remco Vinck, and Marian Hogeslag (†)—previously worked with Geert Noels at Petercam Nederland. Since then, both DoubleDividend and Econopolis have evolved into independent asset managers with a similar vision: active investing, entrepreneurship, a focus on business and family-owned niches, and long-term value creation.

Precisely because both organizations share the same investment philosophy, entrepreneurial culture, and long-term vision, they view this collaboration as a logical next step. While cross-border collaborations are often complicated by cultural differences, both parties actually feel a strong affinity in terms of both substance and culture.

Since our founding, we have been building an independent asset management firm with a clear sustainability vision. In Econopolis, we have found a partner that shares our long-term perspective and entrepreneurial culture. This partnership gives us greater clout and access to additional expertise, while allowing us to remain close to our clients and stay true to the principles on which DoubleDividend was built.

The joint organization stands out because:

  • asustainableinvestment philosophythat goes beyond regulations and reporting requirements;
  • activeasset management based on fundamental research and a long-term perspective;
  • personalizedservicesfor high-net-worth individuals, families, managing shareholders, foundations, and institutional investors;
  • specializedknowledge in areas such astechnology,climate,infrastructure,real estate,emergingmarkets, anddemographictrends;
  • anindependentposition, giving clients direct access to experienced professionals and in-depth economic and financial expertise.
