What can the average investor learn from Siddy Jobe, the Belgian who’s outperforming U.S. tech funds?

Siddy Jobe, a fund manager at Econopolis in Antwerp, has already achieved a 52 percent return this year with his technology fund, without taking excessive risks. Here is his advice.

Siddy Jobe (45) could hardly have chosen a worse time to launch a new technology fund in 2019. The professional fund manager launched the Econopolis Exponential Technologies Fund A CAP EUR, but shortly thereafter, the COVID-19 pandemic brought the global economy to a virtual standstill. Then the war in Ukraine triggered an energy crisis, followed by galloping inflation and a massive spike in interest rates. And more recently, a new war in the Middle East has been causing concern.

Nevertheless, Jobe’s fund has achieved an average annual return of 20 percent since its inception. In absolute terms, this represents a 250 percent increase since its launch. Comparable funds achieved a median return of 146 percent.
