Econopolis is a certified asset manager and investment advisor.
Our group is specialized in
- Wealth management (institutional / family)
- Specialized institutional mandates (eg pension funds)
- Specialized mutual funds
- Corporate finance
Next to discretionary management, Econopolis acts on behalf of families and institutional clients as an advisory agent and/or fiduciary manager, by this taking the role as financial coach in determining asset allocation, control of external managers and cost related issues.
Approach
Econopolis is a next-generation type asset manager. Based upon insights from the bestseller Econoshock, we manage wealth in an innovative way and prepare patrimonia for the next generation. Econopolis manages wealth based upon an unbiased view, with the interest of clients always taking priority. This enables us to distance ourselves from certain asset classes or to opt for investment ideas which correspond 100% with our philosophy.
Research & Analysis
Our research and analysis team is headed by the experienced asset manager Gino Delaere, assisted by Senior Theme & Value analyst Johan Braem. Together they combine their own thorough analysis (eg annual reports) with on the field experience (company visits, CEO interviews etc).
Sources of Information
In order to produce top-level analysis, Econopolis relies on professional tools with real time data such as Bloomberg and Datastream/Reuters. We also dispose of premium licence agreements with Roubini Global Economics, Bianco Research and TIS Group. For specific Belgian data, Econopolis has a co-operation agreement with Graydon. Also international databases are at our disposition such as those from the OECD, IMF and various central banks (NBB, ECB). Next to consulting specialized blogs, our analysts also make use of sector specific sources such as the FAO (world food organization), the USDA and WASDE.
Last but not least, our team members can appeal to a large group of professional contacts within a carefully maintained network of specialized people world-wide (universities, economic researchers etc)
